EcoBoard expanded its free environmental alert service from four Southwest Florida regions to all 67 Florida counties. The site monitors sewage spills reported to Florida DEP, algae blooms and toxin results from state lab sampling, Lake Okeechobee discharge surges via USGS and SFWMD, and National Weather Service warnings. Residents can now subscribe by any of twelve regions or statewide, covering the Panhandle, Big Bend, Northeast Florida, North Central, Central Florida, the Space Coast, Tampa Bay, the Treasure Coast, the Heartland, Southwest Florida, the Southeast Atlantic and the Keys. The live feed currently shows 132 active sewage-spill notices across 32 counties in the last 30 days. Alerts are free by email and text.
